This flow chart maker is really helpful for creating visual representations of complex processes. I have used this for outlining modeling workflows, making paper outlines, and even drafting mind maps of complex subjects when I am studying for exams.

Lovely Plots is a python package that allows for additional customization of matplotlib-style plots for publication. These plots are visually appealing and also can be exported as .svg for additional editing in other software like Adobe Illustrator.Β 
I find myself getting distracted when reading papers and other long texts. Natural Readers is one of many text-to-speech options that will read the text to you. I use it to read along with and have found that it takes fewer read-throughs to to nail down the key points of a paper.Β
